Emergencies

The most probable emergencies for our residents might result from severe weather, power loss, fire, pandemics, terrorist attacks, or health related issues. There may be others, of course, and they all may not be listed here. However, being prepared may lessen your chances of being negatively affected by any of the above.

One way the Brookridge Estates Homes Association (BEHA) board might contact you could be through the use of street captains calling you to warn of a rapid advancing emergency. Another way might be to contact you through emails. It is important that you share your email with us for this reason.

This does not lessen your own responsibility for you and your family's safety.

The Transportation Safety Council suggests that anyone travelling in the current icy conditions should make sure they have the following:

Shovel
Blankets or sleeping bag
Extra clothing including hat and gloves
24 hours worth of food and water
De-Icer
Rock Salt
Flashlight with spare batteries
Road Flares or Reflective Triangles
Empty gas Can
First Aid Kit
Booster cables

(This author would like to add that you keep a freshly charged cell phone with GPS locator handy.)
